Doane College (Neb.) scored three unearned runs in the sixth inning and held on for a 3-2 win over UTB/TSC Friday night at Scorpion Field.

With the Scorpions nursing a 1-0 lead after five innings, Doane finally scored its first runs of the season after 15 innings being shut out by the Scorpions. UTB/TSC won Thursday's season opener, 1-0.
An infield error, walk, and single made it 1-1, and a two-out double boosted Doane's lead to 3-1.
Walks to Zach Cordia and Peter Maldonado preceded a sacrifice bunt and Matt Ginn's sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 3-2 in the seventh. The Scorpions threatened in the final two innings but could not push across the tying run.
UTB/TSC scored the first run of the game in the first inning on a single by Cordia and a double by K.J. Semien.
Marcos de Leon was the hard-luck pitcher for the Scorpions. He went six innings, struck out and walked one. He allowed six hits and no earned runs. Matt Leffler pitched three scoreless innings in relief.
UTB/TSC left 13 runners stranded on base. The Scorpions had four stolen bases, three by Cordia.
