MARSHALL, Mo. -- The UTB/TSC Men's Soccer team tied with Missouri Valley College (Mo.) 2-2.
Leonardo Medeiros scored the first goal for UTB/TSC three minutes into the game. In the second half of the game Dillon Gaffney scored with an assist by Orrin Farrell. Missouri Valley came up with two goals in the second half to tie the game 2-2
Coach Dan Balaguero thoughts on the game were " we were in total control of the game 2-0 up when the referee gave a strange indirect free kick. Full credit to Missouri Valley they put us on defensive and the second goal a minute later would have killed most teams."
With the score tied 2-2 Henry Moody for UTB/TSC was sent off the field and the team was forced to play with ten men on the field.
Coach Dan was pleased with the way the team handled themselves with only ten men on the field. "For us to survive on the road on our 3rd game in 5 days with 10 men speaks volumes about the character of this team. It's been a great roadtrip for us, to play 3 top teams in 5 days parlay that with the amount of travel and heat, makes you realize how stong mentally our guys are."
The team is now 1-0-3 for the season.
UTB/TSC plays its next game in Orange Beach, Alabama September 14 at 7:30 p.m against the 12th ranked University of Mobile.
