
JACKSON, MIss. -- UTB/TSC Women's soccer team have won their past two games defeating Mississippi College 2-1 and Belhaven University 1-0.
UTB/TSC played Mississippi College (Miss.) Thursday, September 13, at 3:00 p.m. and won 2-1.
Leah Russell and Nelleke Smits scored the two goals for UTB/TSC which led them to the victory. Mina Kjoerum also contributed an assist.
This was UTB/TSC's first win of the season. Coach Nik Barjaktarevic was pleased with the team's first win " We were more aggressive, worked harder, stayed connected, and created numerous chances. The girls really earned their first win against a strong Mississippi College team who were effective going forward and strong defensively."
UTB/TSC made good on their win and have now won their past two games also defeating Belhaven University (Miss.) 1-0 Saturday, September 15, at 11:00 a.m.
Leah Russell scored the only goal of the game which led UTB/TSC to a 1-0 victory over Belhaven. Goal keeper Amanda Fulton had six saves and did not allow any goals.
UTB/TSC is now 2-3 for the season.
UTB/TSC plays in its first conference game of the the season on the road at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22 at Wiley College in Marshall Texas
