The National Champion UTB/TSC Women's volleyball team traveled to San Antonio on Tuesday and beat Our Lady of the Lake University Saints in three straight sets (25-14, 25-11, 26-24) to improve their record to 5-0 in conference and 16-0 overall for the season.

The UTB/TSC Women's team started the match fast with Katarina Bursac setting up her teamates for four straight kills in the beginning of the first set. The Women's team took a quick 7-0 lead. UTB/TSC never trailed in the first set in route to a 25-14 win.

The second set was much of the same and although there were a couple of early ties UTB/TSC took a commanding 20-6 on their way to securing the set two win 25-11.

The last set was a back and forth battle that saw twelve ties and four lead changes. On a kill by Danica Markovic the UTB/TSC lead was extended to 20-13 but the Saints would battle back and cut the lead down to 22-21. A kill by Markovic on a Bursac assist made it 25-24 and it was over when the Saints commited an attack error and gave UTB/TSC the 26-24 win.

"I thought we played well." said UTB/TSC Head Coach Todd Lowery. "We took our foot off the gas a little in the the game but over all I am happy with the performance."

Markovic finished the night with 13 kills, 3 aces, and 4 blocks. Vanja Joksic had 7 kills and 6 blocks. Ana Guerra led the team with 8 blocks.

UTB/TSC next match is October 12 when they travel to Oklahoma to take on Langston University.
