The UTB/TSC Men's Soccer team got back into the win column blanking out the Texas College Steers 6-0 today in Tyler, Texas.

The UTB/TSC Men's team had to cancel their last game this past Sunday in Victoria, Texas against the Univerisity of Houston-Victoria because of torrential rain in the area, so UTB/TSC had some built up energy and they took out versus the Steers.

"It's good to get back in the win column, more importantly moved the ball well and played with Energy." said Head Coach Dan Balaguero.

Igor Barbosa got things going setting up Leonardo Medeiros for a goal in the 42nd minute of the contest for the only goal of the first half.  That would be the only goal unitl halftime then UTB/TSC went off.

The Men's team would go on to score five more goals in the second half; two of them coming in the 52nd and 55th minute of the contest.

"It took us a while to get on the score sheet but once we did we were ruthless and killed the game off." said Balaguero.

Barbosa would again set up a teamate for the second goal when he found Ricardo Diegues for the score and Diegues was not done, he scored the third goal on an assist from Medeiros and ten minutes later in the 65th minute he would find the net again on an unassisted score.

The fifth score came on a feed from Jorge Cantu to Victor Parreiras on the 82nd minute to take the score up to 5-0.

Diegues would finish off the scoring getting past the Steers goalie for the fourth time in the afternoon on an assist from Archie Massen in the 88th minute of the match.

"We have struggled with that (slow starts) in recent games, so it (the outcome) was pleasing." said Balaguero. " We will look to build off this and hope to have a similar performance at Bacone on Saturday."

UTB/TSC travel to Muskogee, Oklahome to take on Bacone College on Saturday. After the road trip UTB/TSC will be back at Scorpion field in Brownsville on October 11.
