WACO, Texas -- Ricardo Diegues of the University of Texas-Brownsville was recognized as the Red River Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 1-7, while UTB's Henry Moody was honored as this week's Defensive Player of the Week.

Diegues, a sophomore forward from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, scored six goals and assisted on another in a 2-0 week for the Scorpions. He netted four goals in a 6-0 win over Texas College then recorded two goals and an assist to spur a 5-1 victory over Bacone College (Okla.). With the pair of wins, UTB sits in second place in the RRAC standings at 5-1 with a mark of 6-3-3 on the season.

Moody, a sophomore defender from Toronto, Ont., played all 90 minutes in both games for the Scorpions as they held their opponents to one goal. He also chipped in the first goal of the game against Bacone.

Aaron Guerrero of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) and Cesar Silva of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) were nominated for this week's offensive award, while Luis Flores of OLLU and Oumar Djiba of HT were defensive nominees.
