The UTB and TSC Women showed no rust after a week layoff beating the Huston-Tillotson Rams 11-0 Thursday night at Scorpion Field.
The women's team wasted no time in getting the ball in the net scoring seven goals in the first twenty-eight minutes of play.
"Our focus from the kick-off was fantastic and helped us get off to a great start scoring early and kept finishing well through out the game." said UTB and TSC head coach Nik Barjaktarevic.
Melissa Moreno, Abigail Perez, and Lorena Cardona each scored their first goal of the season. In total eight different players scored in the game. Isadora Freitas had a game high three goals.
There was a good showing of support from the community and the university.
"Atmosphere was great being a night game with the school drumline and the huge fan support. We really enjoyed it." said Barjaktarevic.
The UTB and TSC women's team now gets ready to host Southwestern Assemblies of God University Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. The game has been rescheduled; it was originally scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
"We now need to focus on our next game versus SAGU on Saturday." said Barjaktarevic.
