Women's Soccer - 11:05 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012

On Parents Day, the UTB and TSC Women's Soccer team beat the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Lions 6-0 Saturday morning at Scorpion Field. The win gets UTB and TSC at 7-0 in conference play, and builds the win streak to nine games.

"Great team win for us but what is very important is that we are playing with energy, finishing chances, and playing exciting soccer." said UTB and TSC head coach Nik Barjaktarevic. "A lot of things that we are working on and talking about are coming together."

UTB and TSC women's team played great defense again only allowing SAGU three total shots for the entire game.

"We feel very confident defensively. We are being aggressive as a team and not giving away many opportunities at all." said Barjaktarevic. "This (our defense) is what has won us our last nine games for us."

Isadora Freitas and Nelleke Smits lead UTB and TSC with two goals each.

The women's team has a couple of big road games set for next week. Next Thursday they will travel to Shreveport, Louisiana to take on Louisiana State University-Shreveport and two days later on Saturday they will visit Northwood University in Cedar Hill, Texas. Both games are set for a 3:00 p.m. start.

"We have one of the toughest away games coming up next week in LSU Shreveport and then Northwood University so it is very important that we continue to work hard and ride the momentum." said Barjaktarevic.
