The UTB and TSC Men's Soccer team took up no time to take and early 3-0 lead in route to a 12-1 victory over the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Lions Saturday afternoon at Scorpion Field. The men's team is currently 7-1 in conference play.
By the 20th minute of the contest UTB and TSC had already mounted a 5-0 lead and never looked back.
"It was a good win today. The guys were very efficient in front of the goal and the early goals really changed the game." said UTB and TSC head coach Dan Balaguero. "Once we went up early in the match I knew there was only going to be one winner today."
At intermission the lead was 8-0. UTB and TSC only allowed one goal in the game on only 10 shots by the Lions.
"Everything we touched in front of the goal today went in. We had been threatening to give someone a real hammering for the last few weeks, unfortunately it was SAGU." said Balaguero. "They are a good team with some very dangerous individuals but it was just our game."
Leonardo Medeiros led the contest with an astonishing five goals. Oscar Valencia scored two goals.
The UTB and TSC men's team has had a good run in the last three days beating Huston-Tillotson on Thursday and SAGU today.
"It has been a great week for us but now we need to regroup on Monday and get ready for a good LSUS team Thursday.
The men's team is on the road next week playing Louisiana State University-Shreveport on Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
