In front of a spirited crowd and on Cancer Awareness Day at UTB and TSC the women's volleyball team defeated the Southwestern Assemblies of God Lions 3-0 (25-13, 25-9, 25-19) at Garza Gym in Brownsville on Friday night.

UTB and TSC got off to a hot start and never looked back in beating the Lions. They never trailed in the match.

SAGU did make it interesting in the third set coming as close as 20-18 on great passing from the Lions.

UTB and TSC was lead by Danica Markovic with 14 kills and 2 service aces. Michelle Marques chipped in with 9 kills.

The orange and blue stay home for a Saturday matinee hosting Texas Wesleyan University at 1:00 p.m.
