One day removed from being crowned the 2012 Red River Athletic Conference Champions the UTB and TSC Women's Soccer team traveled to Victoria, Texas to take on the Westminster College Griffins on the campus of the University of Houston-Victoria and picked up their second win in as many days, beating the Griffins 1-0.

It was the first ever meeting in both school's soccer program history.

"We are maturing and getting better as a team and the result today against an excellent Westminster proved it." said UTB and TSC head coach Nik Barjaktarevic. "The ladies were able to make a quick turnaround from playing a tough game yesterday and came out ready to play."

The lone goal and game winner of the afternoon came in the first half off the powerful foot of Isadora Freitas assisted by Tabata Vieira and Nelleke Smits. Playing great defense it would be the only goal UTB and TSC would need.

In the second half the Griffins came out strong, however UTB and TSC would step up to the challenge and dictate the outcome.

"The second half was a bit different with Westminster trying to get back into the game but we still stayed very dangerous offensively and managed to keep a more direct Westminster in check through the second half although they created a few great chances themselves." said Barjaktarevic.

Leading the way for UTB and TSC was, reigning RRAC player of the week, Amanda Fulton.  Defending their end of the field was experienced and speedy Sarah Regalado and Abigail Perez. Patrolling the midfield for UTB and TSC with a relentless effort was Monica Mendes.

Next up for UTB and TSC is the semifinal round of the RRAC tournament held in Cedar Hill, Texas on the campus of Northwood University on November 9.
