IRVING- The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College men's golf team finished the NAIA Contender in 13th place wrapping up competition today.
"This tournament was tough for us. We didn't have anywhere near our best and on top of that the conditions were tough." Head coach Anthony Lopez said.
The tournament was held at the TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas and was hosted by Northwood University (Texas).
As a team UTB/TSC posted a 333 on the third round for a two-day total of 968.
Saad Milan stayed in control for UTB/TSC posting a second day score of 84 to finish the tournament at 239. Gage Murphy finished one total stroke behind Milan posting a third round score of 84 as well and finishing with a total of 240. Marcus Cavazos also posted an 84 for day two to finish with a total of 246.
The tournament leader was Nathan Anderson from Texas Wesleyan posting an overall score of 217.
Texas Wesleyan won the team competition with a total of 886.
The UTB/TSC men's squad will next compete on April 13th.
"We are going to make the best of a nice break and set our sights on the last two events of the year." Lopez said.
