BROWNSVILLE - The No. 3 University of Texas at Brownsville Ocelots women's volleyball team who a year ago reached the Final Four of the NAIA National Tournament got back on their home court at the Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium for their first practice sessions over the weekend.
Head Coach Todd Lowery and assistant Roberta Santos drilled the team and put them through game like situations during the workouts.
The Ocelots met at 9 a.m. and then again at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Lowery has set up his two-a-day practices until August 23 a couple of days before the start of the new academic school year.
UTB will be in action for the first time this season when they travel to Columbia, Missouri on August 30 to play Spring Hill College at 1:00 p.m. and then Grand View University at 5:00 p.m. and on the following day will be matched up against the NAIA National runner-up Columbia College.
The Ocelots home opener is set for September 20 versus Huston-Tillotson at 7 p.m.
