WACO - Danica Markovic of the University of Texas-Brownsville claimed her third Red River Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week award of the 2013 season, this time for the dates of Sept. 16-22. The remainder of this week's honorees included Vanja Joksic of UTB as RRAC Hitter of the Week, Elizabeth Mackenzie-Williams of the University of St. Thomas (Texas) as Setter of the Week, and Diana Castaneda of Wiley College (Texas) and Alexandra Wilborn of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) as Co-Liberos of the Week.

Markovic, a senior outside hitter from Subotica, Serbia, blasted 27 kills in a 2-0 week for the second-ranked Ocelots. She delivered eight kills and nine digs against conference foe Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) before posting 19 kills and 12 digs against UST. Markovic had a hitting percentage of .478 on 48 total attempts with only five errors. UTB is now 11-0 on the season.

Joksic, a junior middle blocker from Gornji Milanovac, Serbia, accounted for 17 kills on 26 attempts with one error for the Ocelots. Her total included eight kills against HT and nine against UST. Joksic also contributed seven digs.

Xiaoyu Guo of UTB was a Setter of the Week nominee, while Heather Meeuwsen of UTB was nominated for Libero of the Week.
