"Both players are huge acquisitions for us; I'm really excited to work with them both," UTB/TSC head men's soccer coach Dan Balaguero said. "They are both winners who have the aspiration, ability and drive to go on and play professional."
Ayembillah finished the 2008 seasons with 48 goals, which tied the Virginia state record, and 23 assists. In his career at Liberty he had 110 goals and 50 assists. During his three seasons at the academy he was a three-time Virginia Independent Conference All-Conference selection, a three-time team MVP and was named to the Virginia All-State team in 2007 and 2008.
"He is a player with electrifying pace," Balaguero said. "He has the ability to beat defenders on the dribble. He has a deadly left foot, great touch and technique."
Nyarko also had a stellar high school career finishing the 2008 season with 23 goals and 30 assists. He was also named team co-MVP and made the 2008 All-State team. Nyarko finished his career at Liberty with 44 goals and 42 assists and was a three-time All-Conference selection.
"He is a top quality midfielder," Balaguero said. "He has great feet, pace and strength. He has the ability to break down the attack with his defensive ability and also the ability to score and get the assist. He is the perfect modern midfielder.
The two players will join the Scorpions this fall as the team attempts to win a NAIA national championship after falling short in the national tournament last season.
"I can't wait to meet my new teammates. I'm excited to work with Coach Balaguero, and win a championship," Ayembillah said. "I look forward to the new challenges academically and athletically."
Nyarko echoed his teammate's sentiment about joining the UTB/TSC men's soccer squad and said that he is excited to be coming to Brownsville.
"Joining the UTB/TSC soccer program will be a great idea for me because they got a good coach who really knows the game. They also have a good academic program and a great student body," Nyarko said. "I just can't wait to be a huge impact on the team to win the championship next year and I think playing for Coach Dan (Balaguero) will actually improve my game because of what a great coach he is."
