SPRING BRANCH, Texas -- UTB/TSC played consistent golf at the Alamo City Classic here Tuesday, and finished in fourth place in the seven-team field at the River Crossing Golf Club.
"The girls played real well," Scorpion head coach Bob Lucio said. "I'm pretty pleased with the results of this tournament. It was a good way to finish the fall season."
The Scorpions shot a 354 Tuesday in rainy conditions after a 346 Monday for a 700 total, which was 58 shots behind tournament champion Southwestern University. McMurry University and St. Mary's University finished in a second-place tie with 664s.
Amanda Anzaldua led the Scorpions with a 168 total, shooting 87 Tuesday after an 81 Monday. Krystal Garza shot a 169 (84-85), Andrea Cadriel 172 (85-87) and Cat Lira 192 (96-96).
Larissa Loredo's 194 did not count to the team score and Pamela Lopez shot 243 playing as an individual.
The tournament was the final one of the fall season for the women's golf team.
