Forty-nine student-athletes, a total of 42.6 percent, have been named to the Athletics Honor Roll for the fall 2009 semester for achieving grade point averages of 3.0 or better.
The total represents the highest marks ever for the Scorpion Athletics program.
"I'm very pleased with our academic progress this fall, given that many of these students were in season," Interim Director of Athletics Todd Lowery said. "This shows their dedication to being a true student-athlete. The credit is also due to our coaching staff for recruiting quality student-athletes."
The 42 percent figure of students receiving 3.0 GPAs or higher is the highest ever for the Scorpion athletic program since joining the NAIA in 2006. There were 115 student-athletes enrolled in fall 2009.
