Golf - 4:20 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010
UTB/TSC will host its only golf tournament of the season -- the 11th Annual Sen. Eddie Lucio Invitational -- at the South Padre Island Golf Club in Laguna Vista Sunday and Monday.

Six teams are entered in the men's field and three teams in the women's field.

The tournament begins with progressive tee times starting at 11 a.m. Sunday, with the final threesome teeing off at 1 p.m. For Monday's final 18 holes, teams will begin play with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
 
It's the first action for both Scorpion teams this spring semester.

Joining two Scorpion teams in the men's field are Our Lady of the Lake University, Texas Lutheran University, Trinity University, and University of the Southwest.

During the fall season, the Scorpions won the 12-team Texas Lutheran University tournament, finished second in the 18-team University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Tournament, third in the six-team Trinity University tournament, and sixth in an eight-team field in the Texas Wesleyan University tournament.

Playing for the Scorpions on the No. 1 team are Chris Milligan, Marcus Cavazos, Matt Cadriel, Victor Calzada, and Brock Crosson. The No. 2 team consists of Joseph Lucio, Vince Cavazos, Anthony Milligan and Jeff Hoover.

Joining the Scorpions in the women's field are Trinity University and Texas Lutheran University.

In the fall, the Scorpion women finished fourth out of nine teams in one tournament, 10th out of 18 in another, and fourth out of seven in a third.

Participating for the Scorpions will be Andrea Cadriel, Krystal Garza, Cat Lira, Larissa Loredo, and Pamela Lopez.
