LAGUNA VISTA -- The UTB/TSC men's golf team leads the 11th Annual Sen. Eddie Lucio Collegiate Golf Invitational after the first round Sunday at the South Padre Island Golf Club.
 
The second 18 holes of the tournament will be played Monday, with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Six teams are entered in the men's field and four in the women's field.

UTB/TSC's top four players on its "A" team shot a round of 293, six shots better than Our Lady of the Lake University, which had a 299. Trinity University followed with a 304, while University of the Southwest had a 310, Texas A&M International University a 329 and the Scorpion "B" team a 338.
 

Brock Crosson

Senior Brock Crosson led the Scorpions with a two-under-par score of 70, one shot behind tournament leader Aaron Flores of OLLU. Scorpion teammate Marcus is in third at even par 72.
 
Crosson's round of 37-33 included the only eagle of the day on the par-five 17th hole.

Other scores for the Scorpions included Chris Milligan at 75 and Victor Calzada at 76. Matt Cadriel's 81 did not count toward the team score.

For the Scorpion "B" team, Anthony Milligan led the foursome with a 76. Vince Cavazos shot 80, Joseph Lucio 84 and Jeff Hoover 98.

In the three-team women's field, UTB/TSC finished with a 354 is 10 strokes behind tournament leader Trinity University. Texas Lutheran University is in second at 347.

Andrea Cadriel leads the women's field after a round of 79 Sunday. She is two shots ahead of Angela Aufderhaar of Trinity for individual medalist.

Other scores for the Scorpions were Krystal Garza 89, Cat Lira 92, and Larissa Loredo 94. Pamela Lopez' 103 did not count toward the team total.
