Scorpion sophomore Matt Ginn has been named Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Co-Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 22-28.
 
Ginn, a first baseman and designated hitter from Midlothian, Ill., hit two home runs, drove in nine runs and scored six times in a 1-3 week for the Scorpions in the Al Ogletree Classic hosted by The University of Texas-Pan American.
 
He accounted for at least one RBI in all four games including one each in two games against the UTPA. In two games against NCAA Division I opponent Prairie View A&M University (Texas), Ginn contributed a run-scoring double as the Scorpions dropped the opener, 5-4.

He followed with a 3-for-4 performance with two homers and 5 RBIs as an 11-8 Scorpion victory. For the week, Ginn was 6-of-18 at the plate with three walks. The Scorpions are now 8-12 on the season.
 
Jeff Sakowski of Northwood University shared the Player of the Week honors with Ginn while Northwood University's Trent Montgomery garnered the Pitcher of the Week award for the same dates.
