Scorpion Soccer Camps for boys and girls are scheduled this summer for youth ages 4 to 17 at the Brownsville Sports Park.

The camps will provide participants the incredible opportunity to spend time with UTB/TSC head men's soccer Coach Dan Balaguero and women's head coach Nik Barjaktarevic, who are among the most respected college coaches around the country.

The program will provide recreational players a total instructional program with fun and exercise and learn from the best.  The camps will help participants gain new skills and make new friends.

For the more serious soccer player, the experienced staff of college coaches and collegiate student-athletes will enhance training, providing feedback on how participants can take their games to the next level. Daily training sessions will provide players chances to develop technical skills and tactical play. The camp will provide participants with position specific additional development and training and to get noticed by UTB/TSC coaches.

The age groups for all camps are:

• Mini: 4-7 years old
• Junior: 8-13 years old
• Elite: 14-17 years old

The dates and times for all camps are:

• Monday-Thursday, June 7-10, 5-8 p.m. or
  
• Monday-Thursday, July 26-29, 5-8 p.m.
  

Check-in on the first camp day will be at 4:30 p.m.

The camp fee of $100 includes a camp t-shirt. An early bird discount of $10 will be applied if paid by May 7 for the June camp and June 26 for the July camp.

Families and UTB/TSC employees will receive a free camp poster.

Participants are expected to bring appropriate shoes, training clothes, and appropriate size soccer ball.

Participants are expected to act with respect for themselves, other campers, staff and the UTB/TSC campus. Campers who cannot behave in a mature manner could be expelled from camp without a refund.

Camp Instructors
The 2010 Scorpion Soccer Camps will be led by UTB/TSC head coaches Dan Balaguero (men's team) and Nik Barjaktarevic (women's team).

In three seasons, Balaguero has directed the Scorpions to three Red River Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships. During those 2007, 2008 and 2009 seasons, the Scorpions are a perfect 30-0 against conference opponents. Balaguero has been named RRAC Coach of the Year in all three seasons. The Scorpions finished 13-5-2 in 2007, 15-5 in 2008 and 17-0-2 in 2009 for an overall record of 45-10-3 (.801).

Barjaktarevic has directed the Scorpions to the 2007 and 2009 Red River Athletic Conference championships, advancing to the NAIA postseason playoffs both times. During the 2008 season, the Scorpions shared the RRAC regular season title. Barjaktarevic's three-year record with the Scorpions is 32-18-3 (.632).
