UTB/TSC hopes its high-powered offense can continue cranking when the Scorpions meet Huston-Tillotson University in a three-game Red River Athletic Conference series Friday and Saturday at Downs Field in Austin.
The Scorpions (19-16, 2-1) and Rams (8-18, 1-2) meet in a single nine-inning game at 5 p.m. Friday.

After dropping the opener of last week's RRAC series to Texas College, 3-0, the Scorpion bats woke up in the final two games of the series. UTB/TSC won by scores 17-7 and 10-5, collecting 16 hits in the first win and 17 in the second. The Scorpions pounded the ball in the 10-5 win, ripping three two-run homers, two triples, and five doubles. Matt Ginn hit his sixth homer, Gus Henggeler his second and Walter Blume his first of the year.
The Scorpions have 10 or more hits in 10 of their last 17 games. The loss to TC snapped a nine-game winning streak, but UTB/TSC has won 11 of its last 12.
Danny Gidora (4-5, 5.12 ERA) is one scheduled starter. Others who could start in the weekend include Kevin Chapman (3-2, 6.40), Daniel 'Trey" Garcia (1-1, 7.08), Matt Leffler (2-1, 5.67), or Chris Raley (2-1, 6.66).
Three Scorpion catchers have shared duties and have the highest batting averages. Gus Henggeler is hitting .435 with two homers, while Gilbert Puente is hitting .397 and Jeff Allen .364.
Jorge Camorlinga leads the regulars in hitting with a .387 average and in runs scored with 41. Matt Warner leads the team in RBI with 36, and Matt Ginn leads in homers with six.
Following the weekend series, the Scorpions will be home for a non-conference game against Texas A&M International University at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Breast Cancer Awareness Night.
