"We'll take the W, thanks to the offense showing up today," Scorpion head coach Bryan Aughney said. "Outside from Keith and Jesus we couldn't pitch well. That's a good club over there, they hit the ball well."
The Scorpions continued their torrid hitting. In their last six games, they have scored 81 runs, Including a game in which they scored only five runs. In those six games, they have rapped 95 hits, an average of almost 16 a game.

Peter Maldonado gets ready to swing away |
The Scorpions let a 7-4 lead after four innings get away. The Dustdevils scored three runs in the fifth and seven in the sixth inning to take a 14-7 lead. UTB/TSC scored five runs in the sixth to make it 14-12 and two in the seventh to tie the game, 14-14.
UTB/TSC took a 15-14 lead in the eighth when Camorlinga singled, moved to second on an obstruction, and scored on an error that followed a hustle infield single by Peter Maldonado. After a stolen base, Maldonado scored on a balk to make it 16-14.
After the pre-game activities recognizing two unique women who have unique breast cancer stories, the Scorpions found themselves down quickly 4-0 in the top of the first inning.
But UTB/TSC struck back quickly. Bustos' bases-loaded walk cut the lead to 4-1, setting the stage for Ginn's grand slam. The homer, the seventh of the season for Ginn, was a rocket over the left field wall that never went higher than 15 feet off the ground. That gave the Scorpions an early 5-4 lead.
Ginn finished 2-for-4, with his grand slam accounting for four of his seven RBIs. He also had a two-run triple and a sacrifice fly.
Camorlinga belted his first collegiate home run, and went 4-for-6 with three runs scored. Bustos went 4-for-5, scoring three runs and driving in three.
"Our guys are hitting well and have worked hard and bought in to our philosophy," Aughney said. "We have keep being disciplined at the plate. We just got to keep it rolling. Like I told these guys, it doesn't matter what we did today, we got to do it again tomorrow."
The Scorpions used five pitchers. The fourth pitcher of the night, Keith Hernandez, went the seventh and eighth innings to gain the victory. Jesus Mendoza pitched a scoreless ninth inning to get his fourth save of the season.
Before the game, the Scorpions honored two women who have contrasting breast cancer stories by having them throw out ceremonial first pitches. Debbie Abrego-Medina, 43, administrative assistant to Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Hilda Silva, is undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Vangie Henggeler, 85, grandmother to Scorpion catcher Gus Henggeler, has been free of breast cancer for 17 years.
Henggeler threw a bouncing pitch to her grandson behind the plate.
UTB/TSC returns home for a three-game Red River Athletic Conference series against Jarvis Christian College Friday and Saturday. The games will be the last home games of the season, although the Scorpions have one scrimmage game remaining after that.
