His two older brothers, junior-to-be Vince and sophomore-to-be Marcus, are key members of the Scorpion golf team.

"I am sure that we just picked up one of the top recruits in South Texas, from a great golfing family," Scorpion head golf coach Bob Lucio said.  We will be a strong squad next year and for several years with his presence on the team."

Cavazos has the Miller High School record for the lowest round in a tournament at 66. He also won three straight district medalist championships.

Vince and Marcus Cavazos had the lowest individual scores for the Scorpions at the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament held in April.

"He joins his brothers and some strong support from returning lettermen in the men's team," Lucio said. "It's going to be fun coaching these guys, they play hard every day and take no prisoners."
