With the first week of preseason workouts out of the way, the Scorpion men's and women's soccer teams get their first real test of preseason play with Orange vs. White intrasquad scrimmages Saturday at REK Center Field.

The Scorpion men's team, 17-0-2 last year, will split into two teams and play at 4 p.m. Saturday. The women's team, 11-5-2 in 2009, will split into Orange and White teams for a 7 p.m. game.

Men's coach Dan Balaguero and women's coach Nik Barjaktarevic will be evaluating players in game situations Saturday. Balaguero has the task of trimming his roster from 29 players to 24 for the season.

The women's soccer team begins the season at home August 28 and the women's team starts on the road August 27.
