LONDON, Ontario -- Brock Crosson, who played with the UTB/TSC men's golf team for the last two years, dropped out of contention with a 78 score in the final round of the Canadian Men's Amateur Championship at the London Hunt and Country Club Sunday.

Crosson finished with rounds of 69-75-74 before Sunday's 78 to finish with a 296 score that left him in 59th place. Crosson, who was tied for third after the opening round, finished 25 shots behind the tournament champion.

Crosson will now switch from the east coast to the west coast to participate in the U.S. Amateur Championship Aug. 23-29 at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash. Crosson qualified for the U.S. Amateur by taking the top spot at a qualifying tournament in July

Crosson played for the Scorpions two years during the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. He was one of three seniors this past year with the Scorpions, who won three tournaments and placed second in two others.

As soon as the U.S. Amateur is over, he will return to UTB/TSC to take classes in the fall semester and hopes to graduate in May 2011.
