As expected, UTB/TSC cracked the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll with a No. 16 ranking in the preseason poll released Tuesday.
 
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), the defending national champion, is ranked No. 1 in the poll. The Blue Raiders were 20-2-1 in the 2009 season and enters the 2010 season with a 12-game unbeaten streak.
 
No other team in the Red River Athletic Conference received votes in the poll.
 
The Scorpions finished the 2009 season ranked No. 15 in the nation. UTB/TSC won the RRAC championship for the third straight year and was eliminated in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round by penalty kicks, 4-3, to Biola University after a 2-2 deadlock in regulation and two overtimes.
 
The Scorpions open the regular season on the road Aug. 27 against Belhaven University in Hattiesburg, Miss., hoping to extend a 19-game unbeaten streak.
