UTB/TSC received a No. 8 ranking in the preseason Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 poll released Tuesday.

Fresno Pacific University, the national champion in the 2007, 2008 and 2009 seasons, is ranked No. 1 in the poll. The Sunbirds have been ranked in the top spot in the poll for 35 consecutive weeks.

California schools swept the top three spots in the poll. Concordia University was ranked second and California Baptist University third.

The Scorpion were eliminated by Fresno Pacific in the quarterfinals of the 2009 NAIA National Women's Volleyball Championship.
