Aaron Brooks, a young guard from the Houston Rockets, hosted an exclusive clinic for children at the Recreation, Kinesiology and Education Center. The second day of the clinic is scheduled from 1-5 p.m. Friday.
About 120 children have registered to attend the clinic, which will benefit the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley. The clinic is sponsored by Rene Cardenas, Owner of Cardenas Auto Group.
This is Brooks' first visit to Brownsville. He played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, who play at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, of the NBA Development League.

An autograph session open to the public will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, August 20.
"Aaron brooks is a great basketball player and even a better person for being willing to share his skills to the youth of our area," Cardenas said.
The UTB/TSC HHP Department is the event host. Children interested in attending the clinic must contact Garza to register at (214) 734-4533. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
