CHAMBERS BAY, Wash. -- Brock Crosson, who played with the UTB/TSC men's golf team for the last two years, had an awful start at the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship at Chambers Bay Golf Club Monday.

Crosson shot a 12-over-par 83 Monday, putting him far behind the leaders after the first day of the tournament. Crosson needs an outstanding round Tuesday to advance out of stroke play.

Crosson qualified for the U.S. Amateur by winning taking a qualifying tournament in July.

He was called a "Canadian sensation" by a Seattle television reporter on a story that aired Monday morning. To watch the newscast, click here.
