CHAMBERS BAY, Wash. -- Former UTB/TSC golfer Brock Crosson shot a 74 Tuesday, but failed to make the cut at the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship at Chambers Bay Golf Club Tuesday.
Together with a 12-over-par 83 Monday, Crosson's 157 total left him 21 shots behind the tournament leader. He finished in a tie for 196th place in a field of 312 golfers.putting him far behind the leaders after the second day of the tournament.
A 149 score was enough to make the top 64 golfers, who now move on to match play for the rest of the week.
Crosson, who played for the Scorpions during the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons, qualified for the U.S. Amateur by winning taking a qualifying tournament in July. Just making it into the field of 312 is an achievement as there were 6,457 players who went through qualifying.
He will be returning to UTB/TSC this week to continue his studies and pursue his bachelor's degree.
