Women's Soccer - 5:10 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010
The regular season gets under way Friday at REK Center Field in the Scorpion Soccer Classic featuring three women's soccer teams.
 
Visiting teams William Carey University (Miss.) and The University of Houston-Victoria will meet at 6 p.m. at REK Center Field to start the three-day tournament.
 
Host UTB/TSC opens its regular season with a 6 p.m. meeting Saturday against William Carey at REK Center Field. The last tournament game matches UTB/TSC and UHV at 6 p.m. Sunday.
 
The WC-UHV matchup Friday provides two contrasting teams.
 
William Carey, 20-2-1 a year ago, finished the 2009 regular season ranked No. 3 in the country. The Crusaders reached the NAIA National Championship Sweet 16 before they were eliminated. WCU, which has won three straight Gulf Coast Athletic Championship titles, checked into the NAIA preseason poll ranked No. 9.
 
UHV is playing its first women's soccer game in the school's history. The Jaguars sport a roster with 22 freshmen, three sophomores and one junior.
