The UTB/TSC women's soccer hits the road for the start of a stretch of five straight road games when the Scorpions meet Lamar University at 7 p.m. Friday at LU Soccer Complex.

The Cardinals are 0-2 this year, dropping a 1-0 decision to Louisiana Tech University and a 2-1 setback to University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Lamar, a member of NCAA Division I, is a member of the Southland Conference.
 
The matchup against the Scorpions is the only meeting for the Cardinals against an NAIA team.
 
Conversely, the meeting for the Scorpions against Lamar is the only one on the schedule against an NCAA team.
 
The Scorpions are 1-0-1 after winning one and tying another in the Scorpion Soccer Classic Aug. 28-29. UTB/TSC tied ninth-ranked William Carey University (Miss.), 1-1.
 
Following the Lamar game, the Scorpions have 12 days off before their next game Sept. 16 at Incarnate Word University.
