The UTB/TSC men's soccer team, which did not lose a game in 2009, looks for its first victory of 2010 when the Scorpions visit Houston for games Saturday and Sunday.
The Scorpions, 0-1-1 after a road trip to Mississippi last week, will face University of St. Thomas (2-0) at 6 p.m. Saturday at Crusader Stadium. The Scorpions then take on William Carey University (1-0) at 2 p.m. Sunday at the same location.
UTB/TSC is ranked 16th in the NAIA Coaches Top 25 preseason poll. William Carey, 13-3-3 a year ago, is ranked 19th.
UTB/TSC was riding the nation's longest unbeaten streak at 19 games before dropping a 2-1 decision to Belhaven University (Miss.) last week. The Scorpions then tied Mid-Continent University (Ky.), 1-1.
The Scorpions, three-time Red River Athletic Conference champions, were 17-0-2 in 2009.
The weekend games mark the third and fourth of a seven-game road stretch to start the 2010 season. UTB/TSC will have its longest break of the season and rest until a two-game series in Oklahoma Sept. 17-18.
