Paula Barros, Gregner Gotay-Quinones and Ana Guerra received Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for their efforts for matches during the week of Aug. 30 to Sept. 5.

Barros was selected as RRAC Setter of the Week, Gotay-Quinones RRAC Libero of the Week, and Guerra RRAC Hitter of the Week. The eighth-ranked Scorpions went 4-0 for the week at the Quality Inn Classic hosted by Columbia College (Mo.) that included a win over seventh-ranked Columbia.
 
Barros, a sophomore setter from Sao Paulo, Brazil, was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. delivered 164 assists for the Scorpions including 52 against Lindenwood. She recorded at least 32 assists in all four of the Scorpion wins last week. She had a tremendous all-around performance that included 16 blocks, 16 kills, and 38 digs.
 
Gotay-Quinones, a sophomore defensive specialist from Naranito, P.R., provided the defense for with 91 digs. She racked up 29 digs against Lindenwood and 23 against Columbia. Gotay-Quinones committed just nine receiving errors in 73 total attempts.
 
Guerra, a freshman middle blocker from Sao Paulo, Brazil, compiled 34 kills She contributed six kills against Columbia and a high of 12 against Lindenwood University (Mo.). For the week, she committed just two errors in 51 total attempts for a hitting percentage of .627.
