AUSTIN -- The undefeated UTB/TSC women's volleyball cruised to a 3-0 victory over Huston-Tillotson University Tuesday in the Red River Athletic Conference opener for both teams at the Mary E. Branch Gymnasium.
With the 25-10, 25-15, 25-8 victory, the Scorpions are now 8-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play. They are ranked No. 6 in the nation in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 25 poll, HTU remained winless at 0-5, 0-1.

Todd Lowery substituted freely throughout the match. All 14 Scorpions got to see action in the match.

Tuesday's match ended an eight-match streak of road matches to start the 2010 season. The Scorpions play their first home match Sept. 14 against Our Lady of the Lake University at the Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium.
The OLLU match starts a string of seven straight home matches and 11 out of 12 at the Garza Gym. The 11 matches are the only home matches for the Scorpions.
