Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium was built in 1959.
Basketball was played in the gymnasium from its inception until 1974, when the program was discontinued. Bleachers were removed after the season, but new bleachers were installed in 2011.
The gymnasium is the home for the volleyball team, which advanced to national tournaments in the NJCAA in 1991, 1995, 1998, and 2004, and in the NAIA in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
The volleyball team won the NAIA National Championship in 2011, and unveiled the championship banner at the first home match of the 2012 season.
The UTB Soccer Field is the home site for the men's and women's soccer teams. The field has natural Bermuda grass and lights that allow the teams to play night games.
For its first two seasons in 2007 and 2008, the teams played at Morningside Park, owned by the City of Brownsville. For the 2009 and 2010 seasons, the teams played at REK Center Field on campus.
