Volleyball Facility

Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium was built in 1959.
It is the namesake of a longtime member of the Texas Southmost College
Board of Trustees.
Basketball was played in the gymnasium from
its inception until 1974, when the program was discontinued. Bleachers
were removed after the season, but new bleachers were installed in 2011.
The
gymnasium is the home for the Scorpion volleyball team, which advanced
to national tournaments in the NJCAA in 1991, 1995, 1998, and 2004, and
in the NAIA in 2007, 2009 and 2010.

The new Scorpion Soccer Field is the new home site for the men's and women's soccer teams. The field has natural Bermuda grass and lights that allow the Scorpions to play night games.
For its first two seasons in 2007 and 2008, the Scorpions played at Morningside Park, owned by the City of Brownsville. For the 2009 and 2010 seasons, the Scorpions played at REK Center Field on campus.

Scorpion Baseball Field was built in 1995. Lights were installed in 2005, a new scoreboard was installed in 2008, and a new backstop and net was installed after the 2010 season.
The facility sports extra large dugouts, a batting cage, and nets along the third baseline and beyond the left and center field fences, for safety concerns to the nearby REK Center and REK Center multipurpose field.
