The Scorpion Faculty Coach Program was established in January 2009.

In this program, a chosen faculty member is invited to attend a team practice session and sit in the bench or dugout with a Scorpion team. Coaches are required to attend one of the faculty member's classes.

"In this program, we hope to build a strong relationship and understanding between academics and athletics," Director of Athletics Vernon Mummert said.
