Jenny Ashley was named Graduate Assistant Volleyball Coach at The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College in August 2008.
Ashley played volleyball for the Scorpions for four seasons from 2004-2007. During her first two years, UTB/TSC competed in a two-year athletics program as members of the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA). She then continued be compete for the Scorpions when they joined the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) for her junior and senior years.
Thus, Ashley became the first four-year student-athlete in history of UTB/TSC.
She received the UTB/TSC Leadership Ring in December 2007 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in May 2008.
Ashley is working on a Master of Arts degree in English with the intent of becoming a professional editor and writer. She is also working in the UTB/TSC Learning Assistance Center at the writing lab.
She is a native of Mesquite, Texas, and graduated from Mesquite High School in 2004.
