KERRVILLE -- UTB/TSC could not keep pace with The University of Texas at Tyler on the second day of the Schreiner Spring Shootout and finished in second place Tuesday at Comanche Trace Golf Course.
 
The Scorpions were tied with UT-Tyler after the first day Monday with 311 scores, but UT-Tyler shot 306 Tuesday while the Scorpions posted a 312 score to finish six strokes back in the nine-team field with a 623 total.

KERRVILLE -- UTB/TSC played steady golf in miserable weather conditions to share the men's division lead after the first round of the Schreiner University Spring Shootout Monday at the Club at Comanche Trace Golf Course.
 
The Scorpions shot a 311 score, good for a tie for the lead with The University of Texas at Tyler in the nine-team field. Our Lady of the Lake University is in third place four shots behind at 315.

UTB/TSC's men's and women's golf teams get back into action for their second tournament in as many weeks in the Schreiner University Spring Shootout Monday and Tuesday at the Club at Comanche Trace Golf Course.
 
Last weekend, the Scorpions hosted the Sen. Eddie Lucio Collegiate Invitational at the South Padre Island Golf Club in Laguna Vista.

LAGUNA VISTA -- UTB/TSC could not gain any ground on Trinity University and finished in second place in the 11th Annual Sen. Eddie Lucio Collegiate Invitational Golf Tournament Monday at the South Padre Island Golf Club.
 
The Scorpions finished with a team total of 702, shooting a 348 Monday after a 354 Sunday. Trinity University bested the three-team field with a 691. Texas Lutheran University was third at 703. Photo Gallery!
 
Strong winds throughout the day and a heavy morning fog were troublesome for some golfers.
 
UTB/TSC's Andrea Cadriel, who had a three-shot lead in the individual medalilst race after Sunday, had a rough day Tuesday, shooting a 90 after an opening-round 79 to finish with a 169, five shots out behind first place. She finished in third place.
 
Texas Lutheran's Angela Aufderhaar won medalist honors with a 162, firing 81 on both days.

LAGUNA VISTA -- The UTB/TSC men's golf team leads the 11th Annual Sen. Eddie Lucio Collegiate Golf Invitational after the first round Sunday at the South Padre Island Golf Club.
 
The second 18 holes of the tournament will be played Monday, with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Six teams are entered in the men's field and four in the women's field.

UTB/TSC's top four players on its "A" team shot a round of 293, six shots better than Our Lady of the Lake University, which had a 299. Trinity University followed with a 304, while University of the Southwest had a 310, Texas A&M International University a 329 and the Scorpion "B" team a 338.
