Student-athletes interested in joining the UTB/TSC baseball team as walk-on Scorpions may still do so.
 
Those students must be a full-time UTB/TSC students and enroll for at least 12 semester credit hours for the fall semester.

Henry Garcia, a 2008 graduate of Porter High School, signed a Red River Athletic Conference Letter of Intent Thursday to join the Scorpion baseball team.
 
Garcia, a lefthanded pitcher, played the last two seasons at Northeast Texas Community College in Mount Pleasant. The Eagles finished 40-15 in 2010.

Three members of the four-time District 32-5A champion Lopez Lobos signed Red River Athletic Conference Letters of Intent to join the Scorpion baseball team during a ceremony Tuesday afternoon at the Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium Annex.
 
The three -- Justin Granado, Carlos Rodriguez and Mague Trevino -- were key members of the Lobos baseball team that advanced to the Class 5A Region IV quarterfinals before losing to McAllen High School two weeks ago.

Three Scorpion baseball student-athletes will spend their summer playing for teams that include collegiate players throughout the nation.

That is the new slogan for the UTB/TSC baseball team after a successful 2010 season that ended with an appearance in the 2010 Baseball National Championship Opening Round Group 4 Tournament.
 
The Scorpions finished the year 31-24 but had numerous reasons to be proud of that mark and the season accomplishments.
