Elizabeth Garza, member of the Lopez High School girls' golf team, has signed a Red River Athletic Conference Letter of Intent to join the Scorpion women's golf team.
 
Garza was a member of the Lopez team that won the District 32-5A championship in 2008.  She was third place in the District 32-5A medalist race in 2008 and 2009. She qualified for the 2010 Cypresswoods Championship in Houston by placing second in the South Texas PGA point system.

EDMOND, Okla. -- The UTB/TSC women's golf team had a better day, but still finished a distant second in the NAIA Unaffiliated Group #2 Tournament at the River Oaks Golf Club Tuesday.
 
Northwood University won the event with a team score of 660, shooting a 327 Tuesday after an opening-round score of 327. UTB/TSC shot 377 Tuesday after a 393 Monday for a 770 score.

EDMOND, Okla. -- There was good and bad news for the UTB/TSC women's golf team after the first round of the NAIA Unaffiliated Group #2 Tournament at the River Oaks Golf Club.
 
The Scorpion women were in second place in the seven-team field, but the team's 393 score trailed tournament leader Northwood University by 66 strokes.

The UTB/TSC women's golf team will begin play in the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Golf Tournament, which is being held in conjunction with two other conferences, Monday and Tuesday at the River Oaks Golf Club in Edmond, Okla.
 
Tournament action in the 36-hole event begins with shotgun starts at 10 a.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. This tournament is classified by the NAIA as Unaffiliated Group #2 Tournament, pitting the three conferences together with nine teams competing.

GRAND PRAIRIE -- The UTB/TSC women's golf team finished the second day of the 2010 Bluebonnet Classic in the same position they held after the first day -- in eighth place Tuesday at Tangle Ridge Golf Club.
 
After an opening-round score of 370, the Scorpions shot 378 Tuesday for a 748 total. Redlands Community College (Kan.) bested the nine-team field with a two-day total of 625.
