The eighth-ranked UTB/TSC women's volleyball tournament is in Missouri for four matches in the Quality Inn Classic hosted by Columbia College Friday and Saturday.
 
UTB/TSC plays Missouri Baptist University at 9 a.m. Friday, Lindenwood University (Mo.) at 3 p.m. Friday, Friends University (Kan.) at 3 p.m. Saturday, and seventh-ranked host Columbia College at 7 p.m. Saturday.

FORT WORTH -- UTB/TSC wrapped an unbeaten weekend at the Wesleyan Hughes Volleyball Classic with a 3-0 win over Brenau University (Ga.) Saturday at Texas Wesleyan University.
 
With the 25-8, 25-8, 25-16 victory, the NAIA's eighth-ranked Scorpions moved to 3-0 for the season. Brenau dropped to 0-4.
 
Eleven Scorpions saw action in the match, which took 58 minutes. The Scorpions had an impressive hitting percentage of .358, with 33 kills on 67 swings with only nine errors.

FORT WORTH -- Eighth-ranked UTB/TSC had an easy first match and a tough second one in two volleyball victories in  the Wesleyan Hughes Classic hosted by Texas Wesleyan University Friday.
 
The Scorpions breezed to a comfortable 3-0 win over Mid-American Christian University (Okla.) in their opener by scores of 25-6, 25-9, 25-7.
 
In the evening match, UTB/TSC outlasted Loyola University (La.), 3-1. The Scorpions took the first set easily, 25-8, but dropped the second, 21-25. UTB/TSC won the final two sets to close out the match, 25-15, 25-17.

UTB/TSC begins Chapter Two of the Todd Lowery Era Friday when the Scorpions compete in the Wesleyan Hughes Volleyball Classic Friday and Saturday on the campus of Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth.
 
The Scorpions, who were 31-1 in Lowery's first regular season in 2009 and finished the year with a 34-3 record, will play three matches in two days at TWU.

The second-year Scorpion head volleyball coach has built another strong team that has its sights set on some lofty goals in the NAIA Women's Volleyball Championships in Iowa this December.
 
Last year, the Scorpions were 31-1 in the regular season, and finished the year with a 34-3 mark after reaching the Elite Eight of the national tournament.
