Eucebio "Scooby" Garza has served as Operations Manager in the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics since November 2002.
His duties as entail procuring all Athletics goods and services, as well as coordinating, planning and processing all travel, scholarship programs and funds. He facilitates updated budget information to assist the Director of Athletes, coaches and staff to make appropriate budgetary decisions.
Garza also prepares Athletics reports for local, state, and federal administrative offices, He maintains and operates the admissions and concessions for Scorpion home athletic events.
Prior to his position in Athletics, Garza worked in several positions in the UTB/TSC Business Office for from 1995 to 2002.
From 1998 to 2002, Garza was Grants and Contracts Supervisor. HIs responsibilities included supervision of post-aware activity for federal, state and local grants, monitoring and processing of awards for Title IV Student Financial Aid, approval and review payment reimbursements for submission to contracting agencies, reconciliations, and preparation of annual financial reports.
From 1996 to 1998, he was Accounts Payable Supervisor. His responsibilities included preparation of payment vendors, reconciliation of general ledger, approval of payment vouchers, and the monitoring and review of checs prior to issuance.
From 1995 to 1996, he was Accountant II, where his responsibilities included preparation of financial reports for submission to The University of Texas System, and other state and federal agencies; and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Prior to his term at UTB/TSC, he worked 23 years at Texas State Technical College in Harlingen. He served as Student Services Director of the National Career Institute, Business Manager for 11 years, and Business Skills Chairman for eight years.
He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting in 1971 from Pan American University (now University of Texas-Pan American).
